A shocking and brutal stabbing in broad daylight in tokyo hass left an entire country stunned…

On March 11, 2025, a 22-year-old influencer named ai Mogami was brutally stabbed in broad daylight—live on stream.

Japan is one of the safest countries in the world, where violent crimes are rare. But what makes this even more disturbing? She was stabbed over 30 times.

The entire internet is asking: Why did this happen? Who was the attacker? Was this just another case of an obsessed fan, or was there something much darker going on?

Well, this story is far from simple. Because this crime wasn’t random. Ai Mogami  knew her killer. In fact, it was a former fan that ended up pushing himself to the  breaking point.

Let’s start from the beginning.

Ai Mogami , real name Airi Sato, was a popular Japanese live streamer on a platform called FuWatch.tv (commonly called FuWatch).

Her content? Just chatting streams—talking to her audience, interacting with fans, and occasionally doing creative outdoor challenges. But more than anything, she built a strong, tight-knit community.

And that’s where Kenichi Tako comes in.

THE FAN WHO GAVE EVERYTHING

Kenichi Takano was a 42-year-old man who discovered her channel in December 2021. From the start, he loved her personality and quickly became one of her biggest supporters.

How big?

At his peak, he was donating over 100,000 yen ($1,000 USD) per month—a huge amount for a streamer of her size.

At the time, Ai Mogami  wasn’t a full-time streamer. She was still working at a restaurant, struggling to make ends meet. So when Kenichi Takano  started sending large donations, she noticed him.

Then, in early 2022, she made a move that changed everything.

She messaged him directly.

For Takano, this was the start of something special. But in reality? This was the beginning of a disastrous, one-sided relationship.

THE MONEY TRAP

At first, Ai Mogami kept it casual. But soon, she started asking him for money directly.

One of the first times? September 8, 2022. She messaged him saying she had forgotten her wallet and needed cash. She promised to pay him back the next day.

Tako, desperate to help, sent the money instantly.

But that was just the beginning.

Less than a week later, she asked for another 20,000 yen. Then 50,000 yen. The amounts kept increasing, and her excuses became more desperate.

She told him she needed money for her sister’s pregnancy. Another time, she said she had loans to pay off.

And Takano? He never said no.

But here’s where it gets even darker.

He didn’t have the money to give. So what did he do?

He took out loans.

That’s right—he borrowed money from lenders just to keep supporting her.

And instead of telling him to stop? She encouraged him to borrow from even more companies.

She even coached him on how to lie on his applications so he’d qualify for bigger loans.

THE LIES & THE BREAKDOWN

By the end of 2022, Takano was drowning in debt. But instead of stopping, Ai Mogami kept pushing him for more.

At one point, he told her he was worried about his financial situation. Her response?

“I need 50,000 yen right now.”

He told her he had already borrowed from two companies. Her response?

“Try borrowing from a third.”

And the scariest part? He did.

At this point, Tako wasn’t just in debt. He was lying to lenders, ignoring collection calls, and risking everything—all because of Mami’s manipulation.

But then, the fantasy shattered.

At the start of 2023, Tako realized something devastating:

Ai Mogami had moved on.

She was making more money than ever, had a new fiancé, and was living in a luxury apartment—while he was left broke, alone, and in massive debt.

And then? She ghosted him.

He begged for his money back. She ignored him.

By this point, Tako had given her over 2.5 million yen (over $20,000 USD)—and 1 million yen of that was from loans.

Desperate, he did the only thing he thought might work.

He sued her.

THE COURT BATTLE

In December 2023, a judge ruled in Takano’s favor—ordering Mami to pay back every yen with interest.

But did she?

No.

Instead, she mocked the lawsuit on stream. She joked about how she just had to “pay it back and it’d be over.”

Meanwhile, Takano was still living in poverty, watching the woman who ruined his life continue to thrive.

And then? He saw something that pushed him over the edge.

A Twitter post.

Ai Mogami wasn’t just living comfortably—she was gambling. She had posted a photo holding poker chips worth over 500,000 yen.

That’s when something inside him snapped.

THE ATTACK

On March 7, 2025, Takano sent her one last message.

“Please give me my money back. I'm in debt and can't live like this anymore.”

She ignored him.

Four days later, she went live-streaming in Shinjuku.

Takano saw the stream. He recognized the area.

And he decided to pay her a visit.

He took a two-hour train ride, tracking her movements. Then, he found her tripod setup—and attacked.

He stabbed her over 30 times.

Her neck, chest, shoulders—again and again. She screamed for help, but then… silence.

And as she lay there, dying, he kicked her body and asked:

“Are you dead yet?”

THE AFTERMATH

The internet exploded.

Misinformation spread fast. Some people mistook her for a different voice actress. But in Japan? The reaction was divided.

Some people sympathized with Takano, saying they understood his rage. Others reminded everyone that murder is never justified.
